"I have always been drawn to the commonplace, the forgotten, the antiquated and the discarded and these subjects have all found a home in my artwork. For me, a common wildflower is more interesting than a long-stemmed rose, an outdated machine more aesthetically alluring than the glow of a fancy new gadget. I love rescuing objects from their fate as pieces of trash and placing them on pedestals to be admired. I love photographing objects so familiar they go unnoticed and hanging them on walls for everyone to see. This transformative act of reclaiming, of elevation...it's not unlike pulling a rabbit out of a hat."
